Ventilation

ebm-papst, Inc. - 5-blad EC Axial Fan with Winglets
ebm-papst Inc.’s 5-blade EC axial fan with winglets offers acoustic improvement from the “winglet” innovation. A type of labyrinth seal between the blade tips and venturi reduces turbulence across the blade tips. According to the company, these “winglets” lower noise as much as 14 dBA without the need for tighter tip clearance or serrated trailing edges. This, combined with a 10% aerodynamic efficiency gain attained by a blade number decrease from seven to five, offers energy savings and low noise not found in other fans.
